UIF is organizing the 6-th International Student and Doctoral Scientific Conference 2026 Economic Integration, Transformation and Resilience: European and Global Perspectives

Conference Overview
The University of Insurance and Finance (UIF) in partnership with Tirana Business University and the Balkan Association of Economic Universities is pleased to invite undergraduate and master"s students, doctoral candidates, and early-career researchers from Bulgarian and international universities to participate in the 6-th International Student and Doctoral Scientific Conference, dedicated to the processes of economic integration, structural transformation and sustainable development in a European and global context.
The conference aims to promote academic dialogue, comparative analysis, and an interdisciplinary approach to a wide range of issues, including Bulgaria"s path from membership in the World Trade Organization to accession to the euro area and the effects thereof.
Conference participants are required to prepare a paper of 8-12 pages and a presentation of their paper, which they will deliver during the conference.
UIF will award three tuition scholarships for its Bulgarian-language master's degree programmes to the top-performing students, covering 50% of the tuition fee for first place, 40% for second place, and 30% for third place.
All participants presenting papers at the conference will receive a 20% discount on the tuition fees for UIF's Bulgarian-language master's programmes.
UIF will also grant a 10% tuition discount for enrolment in a doctoral programme to three master's graduates distinguished at the conference.
In addition, UIF will award three tuition scholarships for its English-language master's degree programmes, covering 30%, 20%, and 15% of the tuition fee, to the best-performing international students.
All international students whose papers are accepted will receive a 10% discount on the tuition fees for UIF's English-language master's programmes.
The winners will be selected by a Scientific Committee chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eduard Marinov, Vice-Rector for Research at UIF. Members of the committee are Prof. Daniela Bobeva, PhD, Prof. Andrey Zaharev, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Diyana Bankova, PhD and Assoc. Prof. Daniela Karaangova, PhD.

- Euro adoption, monetary integration, and economic convergence
- The World Trade Organization, multilateral trade, and global economic governance
- Digital transformation and economic policy
- Green transition, sustainability, and competitiveness
- Small open economies in a context of global transformation
Contributions addressing other topics consistent with the general framework of the conference are also welcome.

Deadline for registration/submission of participation applications: 15 April 2026
Notification of acceptance: 25 April 2026

Participation in the conference is free of charge.
Publication
All papers presented at the conference that comply with the requirements, as specified in the paper template, and that have successfully passed the peer-review process, will be published in a conference proceedings volume in digital format, indexed in the National Reference List of NACID.
Requirements
Individual or co-authored scientific papers presenting theoretical, empirical, or comparative research, including studies with international and comparative perspectives, are welcome.
Each participant will have 10 minutes to present their paper.

International participation
The conference is open to participation from international universities and partner institutions, with selected panels to be conducted in English and held online.
Conference participants will receive certificates of participation signed by the Rector of UIF.
The conference program will be prepared based on the submitted applications, papers, and the full papers received.
